Baby Whale Bliss is your beachfront escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. During whale season, it’s not uncommon to see up to two dozen different whales frolicking in the surf. Being right on the beach, within a minute’s walk you’ll have soft, white sand under your feet. Enjoy a short stroll to the child-friendly tidal pool, or a 10 minute beach-side walk to the local beachfront restaurant. End your day with an indoor barbecue while soaking up the magnificent ocean views.
About the Space
An open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchen with built-in barbecue in the lounge with splendid ocean views would be where you spend most of your time. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, washing machine and dryer. A Nespresso machine is available but please remember to bring your own pods.
The dining room table can seat 8 people with an additional breakfast nook. Three comfortable bedrooms, with two having on-suite bathrooms and an additional bathroom. The main bedroom is sea-facing with a breathtaking view of daily sunrise and the ocean.
Access to the space
You will have access to the whole house, with the best part being the patio doors leading to a small patch of grass, which, due to its proximity to the beach, has panoramic views of the ocean.
Two parking bays are conveniently located at the back of the house.
Extra Notes
Bedding and towels are provided for the house, but guests are reminded to bring their own beach towels.
A wood-burning furnace completes the lounge for those chilly winter evenings. With limited grocery shopping opportunities in Witsand, it is advised to arrive well stocked, or alternatively to visit Heidelberg for some barbecue-inspired shopping! (Spar).

More about the area
Witsand is a small coastal town, with about 300 permanent residents. Anchorage is the closest restaurant to the house, a comfortable two minute drive by car. Pili-Pili Sport Center and Bar, only five minutes away, also has a restaurant and offers water-sports like kayaking, wake-boarding, kite-surfing and can also arrange deep-sea fishing.
Getting around
A car is required. The closest supermarket to Witsand is a 30-minute drive to Heidelberg, with the few small convenient stores in Witsand only really suitable for emergencies.

The house is just lovely – functional, well appointed, peaceful, safe and spacious. For us, there’s nothing lacking at all, and whatever you need is there and easy to find. It’s really like being at home – it has that comfortable, convenient feeling. The views of the bay are, of course, stunning, and watching the waves, the dawn, the sunset and, of course, the whales, makes this a special house in a very special place.
BABY WHALE BLISS is exactly that. Bliss! What an amazing experience to stay there again. Everything was perfect like it was before with a few new touches! We were treated with whales playing in the water right in front of the house. The location of Baby Whale Bliss is amazing! Only a few steps to find yourself on the beach, whether it be for a quick morning coffee, a long walk along the beautiful unspoilt beaches…
This little gem is everything it promises to be AND MORE! We had a great time watching the whales right from our bedroom window. There are lovely shops and restaurants nearby and the beach is a short walk away. We thank Tania and Pieter for creating such a lovely “secret hideaway” and we are planning to come back to stay a bit longer next time! Can’t go wrong 10/10!!
If you have the chance to stay, I would highly recommend. The tranquil views are outstanding, and the entire interior is very well decorated and full of character. Communication was excellent. Tania (local host) was very helpful, and Pieter (owner) was fantastic to move the dates for us (my mistake). The tidal pool is a great amenity for little swimmers, and those less comfortable in the surf. Everything you need.
